Sunflower Power by kennyc Sunflower Power by kennyc
Done in Painter 11 traditionally - from scratch by hand based on one of my own photos. Original is approximately 3000 x 2000 and it painted with Painter's Real Pastel Brushes.

The Painter Program emulates traditional media -- oil, pastels, arcylics, colored pencils, etc.

For this image I used the Pastel emulation brushes. D

Thank you for looking/commenting!

This is really... Sad. But I love it-- the composition is great, and its atmospheric, you can almost feel the desolation.

this is really realistic, especially the large sunflower. I can hardly tell it's a painting

I was pretty convinced from the thumbnail that this was a photograph (in spite of the peculiar scene setup). Was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a painting instead! I like the bleakness of the scene; the dead sunflowers feel like an allegory for something, although I can't quite place my finger on what.

Beautifully painted. :D

Thank you sir. I appreciate that! I believe and in fact intended several possible "interpretations" :)

Enjoy!

I really love this one! Both the sad emotion that is communicated and your technique are wonderful.

Thank You David! Much appreciated! This one was a year in the making (most of in stasis) -- probably 60-80 hours on it. Didn't realize at first what I was getting into with all the detail!
